Dr. Ashraf El-Houbi is an assistant Professor at the Information Systems and Analysis Department at Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Wyoming. He teaches an applied Statistics courses such as Business Statistics, Managerial Decision Making, and statistical analysis for decision making. He taught at Valparaiso University, IN from 2005-2006, and John Carroll University, OH from 2004-2005. His research areas of interest are in Applied Statistics, Biostatistics, Mixed Models, Time Series, and Logistic Regression. He presented several papers at national meetings and has more than 7 refereed journal publications and proceedings. He is a member of the ASA (American Statistical Association), and the MAA (Mathematical Association of America.)
Dr. El-Houbi serves at several committees such as the assessment committee, and Exit Exam Committee, college of Business, Lamar University. He won several awards such as the International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines (IABPAD) Research Conference Award, Orlando, FL, and received a certificate award from the Education conference at Lamar University for presenting paper in “Logistic Regression Analysis of Students’ Attitudes towards the Virtual Chemistry Lab Environment.” He also received a certificate of appreciation from Harmony Science Academy (HSA) Beaumont for serving as a Judge and evaluating best projects for the Science Fair projects.
