Bruce Ricketts, MBA

Vice Chancellor of Military Programs

A retired Commander from the Naval Reserves, Bruce Ricketts has joined JIU as Vice Chancellor of Military Programs. In this capacity, he oversees the university’s special programs in the public sector, covering all U.S. federal, state, and local markets.

Prior his positions with JIU, Bruce led Sun Microsystems Federal Services Organization where his team provided support and professional services for the U.S. Government. Positions at Sun included Chief of Staff to the Executive Vice President of World Wide Sun Services and Education Services Director for the Americas.

His career includes Strategic Planning Manager and Senior Systems Engineer positions for Lockheed Martin.  Bruce served active duty in combat systems and engineering position on three Navy surface ships. He graduated with distinction from the United States Naval Academy in 1983 and earned his MBA from Virginia Tech in 1995.

In addition to his role at JIU, Bruce also serves as Vice President Public Sector to our parent company, Jones Knowledge, Inc.
