BBA 306: Financial Accounting

Overview

This course focuses on a manager's use of financial data for planning, decision making, and control purposes. You will learn how to use financial reports as information tools for evaluation and analysis. The course is designed to introduce you to how data derived from cost-accounting systems are used to make business decisions and evaluate performance in the fast-moving information age.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Prepare and summarize financial accounting information and identify and select accounting information relevant to managerial decision making.
  • Present a reasoned argument for making a business decision based on the analysis of accounting information and understand the implications for developing and implementing an appropriate accounting system that meets the needs of a global-based business operation.
